the names of the District Electoral Divisions for census purposes
These
townlands were all in the Donaghmore Civil Registration District from
1850 to Jan 1887. Then, this district was dissolved and the townlands
re-assigned to 2 other Districts or Poor Law Unions, spread over 3 Registrar's
Districts. I am putting letters and numbers beside the parish name to
indicate which Civil Registration District or Poor Law Union the townland
was re-assigned to, and the Name of the Registrar's District.

does this mean to the Family History Researcher? It means that if you
are looking for any person who was registered as born, married or died
from any of these townlands, then between 1850 and Jan 1887 the civil
registration district that the event will have been registered in is Donaghmore.
From 1887 on, the district that people from these townlands will have
been registered in is either Urlingford which people would normaly assoicate
with County Kilkenny or Roscrea which is normally associated with County
Tipperary.
The
name of the Registrar's District, that is the local registration office
to which they will have gone to register the event will either be Borris-in-Ossory,
